Probably our favourite in Luang Prabang (it’s a tough call), Villa Maly is situated on the outskirts of the old town in a leafy neighbourhood that was once a royal enclave, but is just a 5 minute leisurely stroll to the night market, Phu Si and the centre of town.
A relatively new addition to the short list of excellent small properties in Luang Prabang, Villa Maly is built around a traditional 1920’s Laotian house once home to the King’s daughter. The view of the Phu Si temple in the centre of town, from her original bedroom (now the Maly Suite) is nothing short of spectacular.
The majority of the rooms are housed in seven additional buildings around a central pool area framed by a fine deck of tropical hardwood. The rooms are traditionally Laotian in style with wooden floors and four poster beds that reflect the resort’s colonial past.
