Located in Bali Barat National Park on the North West of Bali, the revamped Menjangan Resort offers a glimpse of Bali that many had thought had disappeared. The transformation of property has created a gem – 24 rooms split between a Monsoon Lodge set in the rainforest 2 kilometres from the beach – and 9 newly built Beach Villas that reflect the influences of team that were also behind the award winning Balé in Nusa Dua.
And it’s the Beach Front Villas we primarily focus on – after all these 105 square metre rooms, backed by mangroves and accessed through wooden walkways are amongst the most special and romantic rooms in Bali. Just metres from your balcony is a calm sandy beach that leads onto a coral reef for snorkellers – and if that is not sufficient, you are just 20 minutes away from the islands best snorkelling and diving at Menjangan Island (well we have yet to see better!). Expect the occasional guests – such as the local deer (Menjangans) – after all this is a national park, and spectacular views from the multi-tiered spectacular all wooden tower, replete with breakfast dining perched on a wooden balcony overlooking the park.
We’re quite confident that should you be looking for a little luxurious adventure, or seeking a side of Bali that you fear may have disappeared, then Menjangan Island is perfect. And that’s not hyperbole – we’re already planning our next visit!
