Overview
YTL hotels have rather triumphantly extended their reach into Bali, maintaining their ethos of unique locations (Tembok on the north east coast is undeveloped, and excessively serene!), ultra-stylish accommodation and an emphasis on ‘Spa Philosophy’. But unlike the more renowned Pangkor Laut or Tanjong Jara, the Spa Village Resort Tembok is dedicated to those for whom the Spa is a focal point of their holiday. Upon arrival you are guided through the resorts ‘Discover Paths’ programmes that take you on 4 different journeys that includes treatments and activities geared towards helping you ‘restore equilibrium to body and spirit’.
Although the resort is therapeutic in nature, these paths can include serene targets of restoring balance, to more vigorous activities including sunset cruises to white water rafting. But with just 31 rooms (and no children), the resort unmistakably immerses itself in the local customs and environment, capturing the spirit of Bali before the era of mass tourism.
