Rapidly emerging as one of Vietnam’s most popular beach destinations Phu Quoc lies in the Gulf of Thailand, close to the Cambodian border. The country’s largest island is surrounded by crystal clear waters, quaint fishing villages and some of the most beautiful, palm fringed, beaches in all of Vietnam.
Still vastly unspoilt, much of Phu Quoc is densely forested and surprisingly mountainous with around 70% of the island being designated as a national park. Plans are afoot to develop the island but until this happens Phu Quoc remains an idyllic tropical hideaway.
With numerous daily flights from Ho Chi Minh City and a direct service to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta Phu Quoc can be the perfect destination to end a trip through the country or a place to recharge before continuing on to Cambodia.
