With historic forts, beautiful beaches and rolling desert all fringed by the crystal clear waters of the Arabian Gulf, Qatar has been often described as the Dubai of 15 years ago.
Qatar and its capital Doha still retain the true feeling of a gulf state and have not yet been spoilt by the huge tourist boom encountered throughout much of the region. An evening stroll along the Corniche still feels unintrusive and dare I say it, still romantic.
The construction of The Qatar-Pearl (to the north of Doha), is set to change the countries profile on the world travel map. The Qatar-Pearl will be, when completed, a 985 acre reclaimed island that will feature beachfront villas, elegant town homes, luxury apartments, exclusive penthouses & 5 star hotels.
Doha is continuing to gain a reputation for excellence in hospitality and is now quite accustomed to hosting anything from major world government talks to international sporting events such as the recent Asian Games as well as the annual ATP tour curtain raiser, The Qatar Open in January. |
