We’ve expanded our range of small, locally owned hotels throughout Indonesia in anticipation of a resurgence in tourism.
Indonesia is a vast country of 17,508 islands and 234 million people, and yet this incredible archipelago is often overlooked by travellers who typically cast their eyes no further than the paradise isle of Bali. And with just a limited marketing campaign to catch your eye, it may have escaped your notice that 2008 is Visit Indonesia Year.
Yet at Ethos Travel we remain confident that you will find your dream holiday in Indonesia and we are committed to offering the largest portfolio of unique, individual Indonesian resorts of any UK or European Tour Operator. Our team of experts are ready to create your dream itinerary - whether it be a Balinese honeymoon, Sumba surf trip or a tailor made trek through the Baliem Valley.
For 2008 we’ve added some very special hotels.
First, there are the two Tugu Hotels, one in Bali and the other in Malang, East Java in Java, one of Indonesia's most beautiful cities, stuck in a valley and surrounded by five active volcanoes. Owned by antiques collector Anhar Setjadibrata, these hotels have been described as "museum boutique but without the stuffiness", and we believe these two gems offer truly unique stays.
We’re proud to introduce the Spa Village Resort, a sister hotel of the world famous Malaysian resorts of Pangkor Laut and Tanjong Jara. Situated near the quiet village of Tembok on the north east coast of Bali, Spa Village offers an adults-only holistic holiday.
In Western Bali, a new destination for us, we’ve uncovered the Taman Wana Villas & Spa, a 28 room mountainside retreat on the border of the West Bali National Park offering spectacular mountain, valley, lagoon and rainforest views .
Finally, in Sarinbuana Eco-Lodge in Central Bali, we’ve found a property that ticks all of our boxes - a totally unique, award winning hotel with the highest levels of ecological, ethical and educational practices. Oozing charm and character, Sarinbuana is set in a jungle location on the slopes of Mount Batukaru. As it has only 3 rooms we urge very early booking!
